PHYSIOTHERAPY DEPARTMENT
The Physiotherapy Department at Euromedica-Arogi is staffed by highly qualified professionals and is equipped with cutting-edge technology including the LOKOMAT robotic system, an orthotic gait therapy device which is digitally controlled by a computer and helps patients by minimizing their rehabilitation time.
Euromedica-Arogi’s team of physiotherapists applies a systematic approach and a constant monitoring in order to maximize human functionality, prevent risks and improve patients’ lives.
HYDROTHERAPY DEPARTMENT
Hydrotherapy takes advantage of the water characteristics and provides all the benefits patients need: confidence, movement, security, joy, capability and well-being.
The hydrotherapists at Euromedica-Arogi have extensive and proven experience in patient care of every age with different conditions and needs.
Three indoor heated swimming pools (31° - 33°C) offer the ideal environment for recovery and mobility improvement. An advanced electronic control system regulates the chlorine and ozone levels throughout the operation of the tanks, and fully guarantees the quality of the water. Our hydrotherapy facility is the most modern and updated facility in the field of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation in Greece. Our infrastructure and special equipment, including an underwater treadmill with resistance jets, electronic lifts and special wheeled carriers for getting into and out of the water, define our hydrotherapy department.
OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY DEPARTMENT
At Euromedica-Arogi, we are able to offer each patient independence with the help of modern technology and simulated experiences in a specially designed environment. Services include:
- Training/re-training in daily activities
- Assessment and training in the operation of special equipment and aids, which contribute to the improvement of mobility and quality of life.

SPEECH THERAPY DEPARTMENT
Often, as a result of a stroke or traumatic brain injury, degenerative diseases or multiple sclerosis, these symptoms appear:
- aphasic disorders, i.e. problems in the understanding and production of speech
- dysarthria (problems in articulation / dysprosody)
- swallowing problems (dysphagia / aglutition)
At Euromedica-Arogi, our highly qualified team of speech therapists examines each patient and recommends a treatment programme. The speech therapy programme is determined by the physiatrist in collaboration with the attending speech therapist, and is readjusted following regular monitoring and the assessment of the patient’s condition.
PSYCHOLOGICAL SUPPORT DEPARTMENT
The Psychological Support team is responsible for the patients' psychological encouragement and it includes clinical psychologists and a neuropsychologist.The facilitation of a patient’s participation in the rehabilitation programme, as well as cooperation with doctors, therapists and the patient’s family is of decisive importance to the success of every programme applied at Euromedica-Arogi. The support provided to patients’ families in particular is integral to treatment, allowing the patients’ loved ones to get involved in the rehabilitation and support process. It also helps patients to adjust to the new living conditions through individual or family treatment.
The neuropsychological test is a non-invasive procedure for the early detection of possible brain dysfunctions, as well as the diagnosis and treatment of problems in people with cognitive or mental disorders.
NUTRITION AND DIETETICS DEPARTMENT
Nutrition plays an important role to your health. At Euromedica-Arogi we begin with an initial assessment of each patient’s nutritional background and then we set specific goals in collaboration with the physiatrist and patient and/or the patient’s family. Our dietician adapts each patient’s diet to the treatment, with regular interventions and readjustments depending on the needs of the therapeutic goals.
SOCIAL SERVICE DEPARTMENT
The aim of this department is to improve the social conditions of our patients as well as to keep them informed about their access to social welfare funds, benefits and equipment and pensions for the disabled.
Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation is a separate medical specialisation, which aims not only to treat the subject of the condition but also to improve the physical and mental function, assisting patients to remain active and to improve the quality of their life in order to be reintegrated into social life.
At Euromedica-Arogi, we take great pride in our interdisciplinary Medical Rehabilitation Team, which plans and implements your recovery. Your team meets on a weekly basis and works closely towards the progress of each patient.
The physiatrist is the head specialist doctor of the Rehabilitation Team. S/He applies a holistic approach to the recovery plan, assesses their condition, sets goals together with you and monitors the progress of your recovery by coordinating the specialized Medical Rehabilitation Team, which consists of:

Euromedica-Arogi Thessaloniki, the first and only rehabilitation centre in the region of South-East Europe, belongs to the select global 'club' of 543 rehabilitation centres, 517 of which are in the USA, to have received the International CARF Accreditation in this specific category.
This accreditation is the highest-level certification worldwide awarded to a rehabilitation centre and determines its essential conformity in line the CARF standard.
The three-year 'Inpatient Rehabilitation Programmes-Hospital' certificate is awarded to a rehabilitation and recovery centre only when it has successfully met the rigorous evaluation procedure conducted by CARF's special inspection team.

The CARF group was founded in 1966. It is an independent nonprofit accredition body whose mission is to upgrade the quality of the operation of services and to optimise outcomes in rehabilitation and recovery centres.
